Safety Performance and culture

Daily Interactions, Structured Training Sessions, and Top Down Empowerment are the foundations of our Safety Culture, all of which are built upon the duties within The Internal Responsibility System. Our supervisors and our workers are all represented on the Joint Health and Safety Committee which is fully funded, recognized and supported by the Corporation. Hazards within our work are continuously identified, controlled, and most importantly reported.  These form the basis for Continuous Improvement sessions in our Safety Program whereby the goal is to eliminate these hazards entirely. Recognition is a major component of our program, whereby Applause Awards are given out on a continual basis for positive reinforcement within our Safety Culture.

As additional evidence of the quality of our safety program, Tecsar has multiple “A” ratings with ISNetworld (ISN) and is Greenlit in Avetta. Further, Tecsar has partnered with IHSA - COR and has achieved the Certificate of Recognition in 2022. This national standard permeates through to every level of Tecsar operations to help ensure client and worker safety concerns are always at the forefront. Locally Tecsar has received a certificate of compliance with a 100% rating from Chemical Valley Industrial Educations Cooperative (IEC).  All 4 safety partnerships measure and audit the performance and robustness of its member’s programs.
